CHAPTER ONE

THE BOY WHO LIVED

Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn't hold with such nonsense. Mr. Dursley was the director of a firm called Grunnings, which made drills. He was a big, beefy man with hardly any neck, although he did have a very large mustache. Mrs. Dursley was thin and blonde and had nearly twice the usual amount of neck, which came in very useful as she spent so much of her time craning over garden fences, spying on the neighbors. The Dursleys had a small son called Dudley and in their opinion there was no finer boy anywhere.

CH1.

프리벳가에 살고 있는 더즐리씨와 그의 부인은 완벽하게 평범했다는것을 고맙게도 자랑스럽게 말합니다. 그들은 신비스럽거나 이상한 일과 관련되리라 생각되지 않는 사람들 이었습니다. 왜냐하면 그들은 말도 안되는 일을 받아 들이지 않았기 때문입니다. 더즐리씨는 드릴 제작 회사인 Grunnings의 이사였습니다. 몹시 거대하고 살이 쪄 목이 거의 없는 남자였고, 덥수룩한 턱수염을 갖고 있었습니다. 더즐리 부인은 말랐고 금발이었고, 목의 길이가 거의 2배에 가까웠으며 그녀가 정원 담 위로 목을 빼고 이웃을 감시하기 위해 많은 시간을 소비할 때 매우 유용했습니다. 더즐리부부에게는 두들리라는 작은 아들이 있었으며 그들이 생각하기에 어디에서도 찾을 수 없는 괜찮은(좋은?) 아이였습니다.
